Current Weight 155
Starting Weight 155.4
So I lost the weight I added on my load days. I was not even thinking about that when I stepped on the scale this morning. Then when I came on to post this morning and re-reading yesterdays post I was surprized to see that I had dropped the 2.7 pounds. Now if only I had those type of results everyday until I got to my goal weight. I would be pretty happy. Each day will tell.
I will be happy when I can glance at my back in the mirror and not see the back fat. For some reason it really causes me distress. More distress than looking at the extra skin on my abdomen. It must be due to the fact that I know the flap of skin on my abdomen is a direct result of being pregnant 4 times, that has stretched the scar tissue from the double hernia many years before and since I gave birth to 4 beautiful daughters I am more acceptable to that souvenir.
A few months back, Barby and I had gone into this consignment shop that we like to browse. They have some nice sales and I purchased a sleeveless sweater with a coordinating skirt. Well of course I didn't try it on, I looked at the size on the top and just assumed that the skirt was the same size. Oh how wrong I was! I got home with it and went to wear a few days later and the skirt, which zipped up the size with a little hook, was too tight. So I just put it to the back of the closet. This morning I decided that I should wear something more colorful and pulled the outfit out. Not only did the skirt fit, it wasn't even snug. So happy. I was more concerned that all the orange in the outfit would make me look older, but who cares, I am older!
Last night I decided to get a bit creative with my cooking, part of it is that I am the first one home now from Monday thru Thursday, so I do not have any high hopes of anything being prepared by the time I get home. I am surprised how easily I have adapted to the change of getting home and getting Jimmy from the neighbors and then unloading and loading the dishwasher before cooking. Usually I would just plop my flat (yes I said flat) ass on the sofa to watch "Snapped". Anyway, back on track. So I got home and although my allergies have been kicking my butt, I decided to make orange ginger chicken for dinner, so I took some Alka-Seltzer cold & allergy medicine. Then I defrosted the chicken. I used all fresh incredients, oranges, lemon, garlic cloves and ginger root. Yum. I add cabbage to the food in place of rise or noodles. I thought it was fantastic and was so glad that all I had eaten all day was my alloted fruit servings and Melba Toast, because I ate 2 servings of the vegi and 2 servings of the protein for dinner. I was the only one who had 2 servings, everyone just ate one. I guess they didn't enjoy it as much as I did. Of course if you are not use to eating things with ginger in it then you may not like it.
Today when I get home from work I am planning on working on some exercise. I was hoping to have my Wii back and be able to start my aerobics again, but I am not able to do that until my next paycheck. So as I was dozing off to sleep last night, before 10pm I thought "why can't I take out my mat and do some leg lifts and tiny crunches?" so that is my plan when I get home. We will see how that goes...he he. I will also remember to take my walk after dinner.
Time has come to boost my loss and get in shape. I need a new bathing suit, because the one from last year fell apart, but it wouldn't fit anyway :) I have a temporary tankini, but the bottoms are too big. For now it works since I am only sitting in the hot tub, but once that pool warms up I am so going to swim in it besides I want to look good in a suit and losing weight without working out could cause too much saggy skin.
I hope that this weekend I will remember to take my measurements, since I haven't in such a long time. If I do I will get them posted so everyone can see the strides I am making on this diet.
Get up, get out and move!!!!!

Last year, I got this great vintage-look bathing suit. I think I've worn it once, and it was a little tight. I am SO hoping it fits better this year. It should, I suspect. It's a black Marilyn style one piece.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I'm loading today and tomorrow, and starting on Sunday...I realized that what I eat at RenFaire (other than the glass or three of mead) fits the diet. I will still have a couple of glasses of mead, but since I'm strapped financially, it won't be too difficult to stay pretty close to the diet. After that, no alcohol or anything until afterward. The mead is traditional. And it's ok...I just won't get the big jump-start of that first day dieting like before. Since I'm going into it knowing that, I'm good. I just have to load today, because I'm going to lunch, plus I have my homemade corned beef in the crock pot right now, and I do not intend to just eat a deck of card size piece of it. And there's the potatoes. I plan on having them today, too. I also have a Guinness left over from yesterday in the fridge. So, there I have it. Sort of a plan.
I'm so glad to see how happy you are with your results. And I love how food still tastes so much better than it did before we started this process. We don't have to eat just to live - but we don't have to live to eat, either. Balance. It's a good thing!
