Day 14 - Phase 2 - Round 2
Current weight 152.2 I haven't been blogging as much, since there hasn't been a huge change in my weight this round. It could be and most likely is that I have not been following the protocol to a T. I am happy to report that I have not gained any weight. I have started to exercise with some floor exercises, I am doing some stretching and mini-crunches. It is time to start toning up now. Time of wearing a bathing suit every weekend is fast approaching. Being fat in a bathing suit is not what I want, but being a jiggly-puff is not appealing to me either. I would like to know that when people take a second look at me it is because I look good not scary. I like to watch that show "Heavy" on A&E. I see those people and even though I was not classed as morbidly obese, I understand their pain. One of the things on the show that I find very educating is when they send the clients to the store and have them buy the "comfort" food of their choice. In one episode the guy picked up a pack of hot dogs and the woman picked up some chocolate covered doughnuts. Then they had to read the serving size as well as the calories. A hotdog (just the hotdog) was 180 calories, the guy said he would eat the entire package in one sitting, now imagine if you added a bun, chili and cheese, whoa. The chocolate covered doughnuts had 220 calories in one serving. One serving is one doughnut, with 8 servings in the package, how many of us have actually eaten an entire package of doughnuts? I know I have done it a time or two. Then if we do not do anything more for exercise beyond getting out of bed and going to work, it doesn't take long to just add weigh on top of weight. After watching the show this past Monday I decided it would be good to figure out my body mass index (BMI). There are many sites online that will do the figures for you. I was very happy to see that my BMI is in the normal range, finally. However, if I do not keep an eye on my weight and continue to take care of myself I could reach beyond that normal range very easily. Oh to be able to have a body that does not require daily maintenance, it just doesn't happen. When we start to lose weight and become more aware of what we eat, we seriously look at the calories that are contained in the food that we enjoy eating. When we want a fast meal, we often tend to go through the drive thru at a fast food restaurant. Do we order a salad? Not usually, I mean come on, we can make a salad at home. If we are spending the money to eat out, we want our "money's" worth, so we buy the meal! Then it is a good deal to upsize to a large everything. There are 576 calories in a Big Mac without cheese, 500 calories in a large order of french fries...Wow that is the majority of the calories I should be eating in one entire day. Better hope that I was not planning on having dinner or worse hadn't eaten anything for the day, before I had this for supper. It is no wonder we are the fattest nation! I would like to say that I have learned my lesson and I no longer eat fast food, but I do not have that much will power...no I do not chose a salad either. But what I do try to do is pick things that have less calories and I pass on the french fries. I will chose a Fruit & Yogurt Parfait which has 160 calories in a serving, but I am bad about eating a Hot N Spicy Mc Chicken sandwich, which has less fat in it, but still carries 450 calories. Thankfully this is really rare that I will do fast food. So I had mentioned in a previous blog that I was going to start taking a pro-biotic. Why, well I made this choice because I have a condition that is called IBS w/constipation, so I thought if I take a pro-biotic this will assist in helping me be more regular, becuase the more regular you are, the better it is to really be able to gauge your weight. Excess waste sitting in your system can add unnecessary weight. Well I started the pro-biotic and the directions said it can take 7 to 14 days to begin to work. I have been taking them for well over 14 days and I have found that instead of eliminating the excess waste in my system it is more like a eliminating money from my pocket book. That's right, after my experience, don't waste the money to purchase a pro-biotic, they aren't cheap. If you enjoy eating yogurt, then spend the money on yogurt, you get the benefit of whatever it is that yogurt and the "cultures" do as well as to enjoy a good tasting and good for you food. I honestly think that taking the pro-biotic made my IBS w/constipation worse. Now I am having to take 2 (a full dose) of laxative to clean my system out, where it use to be I only needed a 1/2 a dose once every other month. Just don't waste your money on these pro-biotic. If for some reason you have occassional bouts of constipation, take a laxative, generic laxatives, bought at the .99 store work just as well. Well now that I have given you too much information on the ins & outs (pun intended) of my internal organs I should just sign off. Good luck to all of you learning to eat healthier, learning how your body works with what foods. Remember to get up and move at least 30 minutes everyday. Don't try to do more than what your body can handle. Don't get frustrated, you didn't put on the weight overnight and you are not going to lose it overnight, but you can lose it faster if you follow the HCG Diet protocol, whether it is a synthetic or the actual hormone injections, whatever it is you feel the most comfortable with. I will be posting new after pictures to my FB very soon.

Your weight with your height is excellent. I will just be happy, at this point, to reach 150, and I'm only 5'3". If I get lower than that, great. I'm still at a higher BMI, with about 11 lbs to go to make that goal. I don't know what my BMI will be at 150 - I should check.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble following the diet to a "T" this time, because with money being so short, I can't afford to buy the right food items - fresh veggies, etc. I think I'm going to resort to canned veggies and fruits in water. Unfortunately, I've allowed myself to eat popcorn, because it's filling, as well as some stuff that people have brought into the office - a cookie one day, two slices of some kind of bread stuff that seems as heavy as a scone today.
I'm also almost out of drops, so I've been skimping on them. I can't afford to purchase more, and payday will not help me whatsoever this time around.
Oh, well...life presents its challenges, and we have to meet them. We can do it well or we can give up. I choose to do my best to do it well, and never give up.
